Photograph article dated February 6, 1964 partially reads, "One of the largest art mosaics in the world is nearing completion at Forest Lawn Memorial-Park, Hollywood Hills. Called "The Birth of Liberty," the 162-foot-high mosaic contains an estimated 5 million pieces of Venetian tile. The mosaic is one of two central features in the Court of Liberty. The other is a 15-foot-high, 7,500-pound bronze statue of George Washington atop a 32-foot-high marble pedestal. The statue was put into place Monday." The statue of George Washington looks out over the Court of Liberty with "The Birth of Liberty" mosaic dominating the north end of the area.; See images #00118191 through #00118196 for all photos in this series.
