Electric Light Tower in San Jose, inspired by J. J. Owen, editor of the San Jose Mercury. The tower stood 237-feet tall and was lighted on December 13, 1881. The tower was damaged by a windstorm on February 1915 and collapsed on December 1915 at 11:55 a.m.
