Photograph dated January 10, 1963 shows 17-year-olds John Berk, left, and Dan Griffin, center, with their instructor, Dr. David Sinizer, of Atomics International, as they attend a special 5-week course in "Principles of Heat Treatment," sponsored by the San Fernando Valley Chapter of the American Society of Metals and held at Atomics International in Canoga Park. The young men were selected to attend the course designed for college graduates from among members of the Future Engineers of America chapters in the Valley.
