Scope/Content: Produced by Emma E. Pullen and narrated by the actress, Nichelle Nichols, Marcing into the Millenium presents a brief history of African Americans in Los Angeles. Councilman Mark Ridley-Thomas, and Councilwoman Rita Waters, Councilwoman Ruth Galanter, Mayor Tom Bradley, Rick Moss of the California African American Museum, LA County Supervisor Yvonne Burke, and Mayor Richard Riordan, among others, are featured in this presentation. The founding of the Golden State Mutual Life Insurance Company begins around the 4 minute mark. This film also includes discussions about Biddy Mason and Miriam Matthews.
