Description
Bedstead, Renaissance Revival style, walnut and laurel wood, pierced and carved wood, applied burl veneer; full-sized. Includes:a) a straight pediment that spans the entire top of the headboard which has curved brackets on each side. It is surmounted with a carved scroll in the center. The remainder has pierced and carved circles and half -circles. This pediment sits on top of the b) tall rectangular headboard. The top section is pierced with scroll and foliate carvings; the middle has a central panel with applied scroll and foliate decoration.A panel with applied burl wood veneer is on each side of the central panel. The bottom section is plain wood c) The rectangular footboard has flat top rail with egg shaped carvings along the edge. The front of the footboard has a center panel with the same scroll and foliate applied decoration that is on the headboard. The side burl wood veneered panels are on either side of the center panel. d-e) 2 wood bed rails with metal hooks on each end. f-i) narrow, plain wood bed slats. j-m) 4 plain wood rail reinforcements. n-q) 4 metal casters (new, not original)
