Shows base of well, workmen, cart on rails. "1st oil well, miller fell off tower (another). Oil seepage from time made water proof baskets, catch fire - 'tar pits' burning, oil people. Coaling Parlar ND, Los Floras ND. Oil well marked by them" -- handwritten on verso.
