Text written on photo: "Salvaging among the ruins 1906." Text written to left: "National Guard forcing citizens to clear up debris-1906." Photo shows soldiers with bayonets handy overseeing a group of men working on a pile of bricks in the middle of the street. A fenced park or garden is at the left, with ruined buildings beyond.
