Ostriches in Alum Rock Park, Another close-up of one of the giant ostriches at the ostrich farm. One of the male ostriches weighed 400 pounds and strongly protected his harem. At one time 2 young ostriches attempted to take over, and he kicked each of them over the 6 ft fence out of his territory.
