Photograph caption dated April 7, 1971 reads, "The body of attorney Ronald Hughes is taken to hearse after services were held in the San Fernando Valley. Hughes body was found in Ventura County after his disappearance last Thanksgiving weekend. He was buried in Westwood Memorial Park. Hughes represented Leslie Van Houten during the Tate murder trial. Among those serving as pallbearers were his father, John Hughes, front, far side of casket, and fellow trial lawyer, Paul Fitzgerald (in middle on near side of casket)."
