Description
Maria Schell evidently has aplomb to match her beauty and acting talent. This she demonstrated on September 19, 1964, when, together with noted film designer Edith Head, she boarded a Mexicana Airlines jet comet for Mazatlan and the beginning of a new motion picture there. She and Miss Head were handed copies of the script prior to boarding the plane at Los Angeles International Airport. Neither had seen it before and both planned to study it during the 1-1/2 hour non-stop flight so as to be ready for shooting upon arrival on location at the Mexican seaport. Said Miss Schell: Ever since I came to Hollywood I have learned to tune myself to jet-age speed. At least I'll have almost two hours to bone-up on my new part before I face the cameras. Commented designer Head, H'mmph!.
