Description
Photograph of construction of beach groins, showing a tractor and truck, 1953. The tractor rolls over the smooth sand on the left with the large truck dragging behind it at center. The man driving the tractor looks back at the truck driver who sits with a concrete portion of the new beach groin in the bed of his truck. The completed portion of the groin can be seen on the far left with lightly-colored buildings standing along the hills over the beach in the distance. Photoprint reads "Along this solid southern California beach a tractor-drawn truck wheels the concrete blocks into place for building a new groin".
