Parad earned his Master's Degree from Boston University, and his Doctorate from Columbia University. He has been elected as a Distinguished Practitioner to the National Academy of Practice in Social Work. He is a Board Certified Diplomat in Social Work (BCD). Dr. Parad's agency experience includes assignments in family counseling, child guidance, public health, and mental health settings. He has been an LCSW since 1972. Formerly Dean and Professor at the Smith College School for Social Work, Dr. Parad has served on the faculty of Harvard University, Boston University, University of California, University of Hawaii, and most recently at the University of Southern California.
