Description
The practices of these Sacramento River boaters might raise the hackles of anybody concerned with water safety. This apparent disdain for safety took place on the Sacramento River in the wake of two Steamboat Slough boating accidents which left four persons dead, another believed drowned and several others injured. In this view, the boat in the upper right leaves excessive wakes as they ass marinas and other boats. According to Sacramento County Coroner George Nielsen, area boaters seem to make a habit of creating hazards: people standing instead of sitting, riding on bows, weaving on skis through traffic jams, leaving excessive wakes as they pass marinas and smaller boats.
