Description
Parade float bearing words "Liberty and Justice for whom" and "San Jose" carries six unidentified people on crucifixes in protest of the defeat of Proposition AB-1, proposed legislation banning employment discrimination based on sexual orientation. Parade watchers clap and cheer in background. Written on recto: "circa 1980 Yes on A & B defeated." Authored by Art Agnos (D-San Francisco), AB-1 passed the California State Senate 22-16 on February 16, 1980. Governor Deukmejian vetoed this legislation that year.
