Description
In this photograph, "after Mass, Fr. Haggerty telling a Japanese Christian using sign language the time of the Corpus Christi procession that afternoon."
Born in New York, Fr. Haggerty came to Maryknoll in 1927 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1934. He was assigned to Fushun, Manchuria that same year and returned on the SS Gripsholm in 1942. He returned to Manchuria in 1945 and spent years in Shanghai, Seattle, Taiwan and Africa.
