"The blue [purple] First Place ribbon was won at the Malibu Riders Club show near Malibu Canyon Road and P.C.H. This was the second ribbon I had ever won. By 1958, I had won 90 ribbons in the Gymkhana horse shows." [Editor's note: Dale Smith rode his horse Tezshean for all three ribbons. This purple-centered ribbon is labeled: 1956, Third Annual Fall Round-Up. The ribbon with the red center was awarded to Dale in Malibu, California in 1955 as the award for Champion Junior. The ribbon with the yellow center was awarded to Dale in Malibu, California in 1955 as the award for Third to Grand Champion]. complete;
