View of the Wing-dam Mine in Siskiyou County ca. 1890s On Klamath--across from Long Gulch in 90s. 3/4 mile below mouth of Shasta River. Wing-dam mine. Note the dipwheel in the background (farthest upstream) which is bringing water up to the trestled flume. The flume conveys the water to a sluice which dischanges it over the top of the dam. The current wheel in the foreground powers a pump. The large piles of rock in the center of the picture were stacked with the aid of the derrick
