Photograph caption dated September 8, 1956 reads, "Tender care for ailing - Mrs. Lake Spearman, supervising nurse in 18-bed infirmary on home grounds, administers medicine to patient, Charles O. Inglefield, 88, retired oil worker. Mrs. Spearman says she believes kindly and attentive care keeps many oldsters alive long after physicians have given them up.
