The largest parking garage in Southern California to use precast and prestressed concrete double tees to support its decks has been erected over the Dominguez Flood Control Channel in Torrance. The 2,150-foot-long structure is expected to solve the parking problems caused by tripled student enrollment at El Camino College. The tees required 1,100,000 linear feet, or more than 200 miles, of 1/2-inch, 270-KIP stress relieved strand. A large percentage of this strand was furnished by Bethlehem Steel Corporation. The tees were manufactured by Rockwin Corporation of Santa Fe Springs.
