Description
This report by the Redevelopment Agency of Sacramento in 1954 describes the working plan for redeveloping part of the West End into the Capitol Mall area. The report's plan includes the boundaries of the Capitol Mall, the proposed land use plan, construction standards and requirements, the purposes and objectives of the Capitol Mall area, and a map of the Capitol Mall area. Later parts of the report focus on existing conditions, relocation of people and businesses, the racial composition of the area, and financial estimates and costs of the redevelopment project.
