Photograph was edited for publication purposes. Photograph caption dated December 14, 1963 reads, "She won it in a hat-making contest aboard ship." The article partially reads, "'Whoooo!' sighed Mrs. Boshouwers in North Hollywood a few days ago, throwing her hands in the air, 'how wonderful the trip has turned out...Two years ago I moved into my houseboat. I was terrified of water but now I'll never change...' Mrs. Boshowers [sic] decided to join her country's 'Get In Touch With The Dutch' program, which, she explained, is a system of registration which enables foreign visitors and tourists to meet and live with the Dutch during their stay. 'I have entertained 40 Americans,' she said. 'Everyone told me that if I ever came to America I could reverse the procedure and stay with Americans.' Mrs. Boshouwers decided to take up their offers and left Amsterdam Oct. 25 by boat, arriving in New York Nov. 4."
