Photograph caption dated January 23, 1987 reads, "Among the 1,300 Catholic school students who gathered in L.A. to protest legalized abortion yesterday were these young women on the steps of Pueblo de Los Angeles. They carried banners and balloons in answer to Archbishop Roger Mahony's call to "celebrate life." Said the prelate: "Each human life is important, each is interrelated. The concern for each human life from the moment of conception through natural death, is a constant struggle."
