Description
From the Sacramento Bee caption printed on November 16, 1967: "Sewage effluent from the South Tahoe Public Utility District is being discharged, left, on hillside in South Tahoe (subject photo). When the snow melts in spring, the runoff drains the effluent into Lake Tahoe. This situation is typical of the manner in which effluent is disposed of in the area. Evidence of Tahoe's accelerating pollution is show, right (photo 7903), by this growth of aquatic weeds in a marina in South Tahoe."
