This circa 1985 postcard shows a United States Coast Guard Lockheed C-130 Hercules operating out of McClellan Air Force Base. Coast Guard Air Station Sacramento was established at McClellan in September 1978, intended to be an outgrowth of Air Station San Francisco. Its primary task was to conduct search and rescue missions, assist Coast Guard cutter patrols, and ensure marine environmental protection and federal law enforcement.
