Description
The Salinas Valley Hospital at East San Luis & Monterey Streets with its entrance on East San Luis. The building to the left of the main building is the hospital office. The house partially visible at the far left is the Vessley residence. The owner of the hospital was Dr. Rollin Reeves. Rates were $6.00 for a room without a bath and $12.00 for a room with a shared bath. There were 26 rooms in the one story stucco building. Mrs. Olive Hamilton Steinbeck was in Room #1 ($12.00) in the main building on the right of the photo and was visited often by her son John Steinbeck.
