Photo--black and white: Rachel (Ernest) Taylor, born 8 Apr, 1798 in S. Carolina and died 14 Nov, 1881 in Sonoma Co. CA. Rachel was the wife of Benjamin Taylor, (1794-1873). Rachel is buried in the Gilliam Cemetery. Picture taken in Sonoma Co. about 1870. Matriarch of Gilliam family-Rachel, Henrietta and Mary (Polly).
