Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated March 29, 1961 partially reads, "After a delay of three years, a North Hollwood [sic] couple is suing a North Hollywood hospital for $30,000 damages, claiming the medical center 'falsely imprisoned' their newborn baby because they couldn't pay the bill...Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Phillips, 5653 Bakman Ave., brought the action in Los Angeles Superior Court Tuesday on behalf of Jane Ann, now 3, born March 9, 1958, at Victory Hospital...The suit asserts that nurses, agents and servants of the hospital wrongfully restrained and imprisoned the child for two days and two nights before Phillips took the baby home on March 17 after he had arranged to pay the bill."
