Description
James Marshall statue. These two youngsters hiked to the top of the hill in Coloma, El Dorado County, to view the statue of James Marshall, which points to the spot where the millright discovered gold in 1848. The girls were among thousands this summer who discovered a treasure of family outdoor recreation at the American River park site, which includes the reconstruction of Sutter's saw mill, picnic grounds, ball fields, the park museum and nature trails ending at Marshall's statue.
