Audio recording of history presentations given by members of the San Mateo County Historical Association Auxiliary on February 24, 1971. Side 1: Mrs. Anderson, Patricia Schmidt, and Dorothy Regnery discuss the Mexican Period on the San Francisco Peninsula (00:00:00-00:39:31). Dorothy Regnery discusses a Russian canon in the collection of the San Mateo County Historical Association. The canon was believed to have been abandoned by a United States troop from Monterey during the battle of Santa Clara in 1846 (00:39:32-00:47:13). Side 2: Continuation of Dorothy Regnery’s presentation on the Russian canon including identification and recovery. Includes information that was later presented in the publication "An 1801 Russian Cannon" by Dorothy F. Regnery, 1972.
