Description
Introduction by Brother Leo, Saint Mary's College, California. From page opposite title page: "This is the first pamphlet issued by the Spanish Relief Committee of San Francisco. The Spanish Relief Committee declares that its only object is to collect funds to be used exclusively for reconstruction purposes, and to give aid to all those in need. This is truly the only and noble manner for us to help the Spanish people. It is not our intention to use propaganda on behalf of any system or systems of ideas actually in controversy. In publishing these pamphlets, our wish is to present to those who will read them the facts and the causes of the present struggle in Spain. The best proof of our fairness is that all pamphlets will be written by competent people who are themselves a guarantee for the facts and documentary evidence set forth in the pamphlets."
