Stoddard presents his correspondent with "the Easterns which I mentioned to you yesterday ... I fancy there are some of the good (emphasis) Easterns among them. However this be, it gives me great pleasure to turn them over to you. When I am dead they may have an interest in your eyes which they cannot now."
