Description: Acoustic data coupler, also known as a modem, that was used by San Jose's former Mayor, Janet Gray Hayes. The front folds open to hold the telephone receiver and connect computer terminals via the handset. This modem was manufactured by Anderson Jacobson, an early pioneer of acoustic modems.
