Description
Martin Krause, Sören Giversen, Bentley Layton, John Turner, Samiha 'Abd el-Shaheed, James M. Robinson, Frederik Wisse, James Brashler and Rodolphe Kasser on the patio of the Coptic Museum. The sandbags in the windows were required as long as the Arab Republic of Egypt was in a state of war with Israel. During this period of time the codices were kept in safe keeping (the basement of the Egyptian Museum), and had to be brought out each time the Technical Sub-Committee of the International Committee for the Nag Hammadi Codices came to Cairo to work on them.
