Description
Annotation translation: "Commentary to B.579 (photograph from the year 1939). The focus of religious reverence for the muslims in Sampit: two small canons under a tree. An official placed them there once, and they are now regarded as a source of power to help cope with all kinds of need and suffering. The wooden carving, especially visible in (b) is part of this holy place." Annotation: "Erklärung zu B.579 (Aufnahmen a. d. Jahr 1939). Das Dorfheiligtum der Mohammedaner in Sampit: 2 kleine Kanonen, unter einem Baum, die ein Beamter einst dort aufgestellen liess & die nun Kraftmittel geworden sind für alle möglichen Leiden & Nöte.
