Photograph caption dated April 14, 1954 reads, "Bombs fell, windows rattled, hot wires sizzled, sirens wailed, dogs barked and cats ran for cover during the dry run of the Civilian Defense Corps in Pacoima. All this occurred as first aiders, ambulance drivers, doctors and incidents were combined to show the preparedness of Pacoima should disaster strike." Photograph caption reads, "Ready and able - First aid equipment is rushed to headquarters set up in Beachy Avenue Elementary School by Irene Nunn, Richard Tordrup and Gertrude Bobele to aid in simulated dry run of Civilian Defense Corps in Pacoima."; See images #00139261 through #00139269 for all photos in this series.
