Not long after Barry filed the first paternity suit against Chaplin, federal prosecutors brought Mann Act charges against Charlie Chaplin in relation to Barry; he was acquitted.
Photograph caption dated January 20, 1944 reads, "Joan Barry takes drink after testimony."
