Seven women in fashions for October 1836. The woman in the top left hand corner is shown from the waist up. Her hair is done in an intricate up-do with loops at the back and is drawn smoothly over her ears, with decorations of pearls and pink flowers. She wears a pair of dangling, teardrop shaped earrings as well as two necklaces. Two swaths of white lace fabric with lace trim come over her shoulders, crossing the bodice. The bodice is vertically pleated with a straight neck. Her sleeves are made of several sections of layered fabric arranged like the petals of a flower. Her belt is fastened tightly around her waist with a tall narrow buckle in the center. The woman in the top center of the page is shown from the knees up. She wears a wide brimmed, blue bonnet, embellished with large white feathers and large bows made of blue ribbon. A blue ribbon ties the hat underneath her chin. The bodice is white with a small "V" shaped neck, trimmed with white ruffles. A seam, also trimmed with white ruffles, runs down the center of the bodice. She wears a small, oval brooch. Large white ruffles and lace trim the seams on her shoulders and upper sleeves. Her sleeves are wide and pale yellow in color. One of her cuffs is white, trimmed with white lace, and the other is yellow, trimmed with yellow lace, in the same hue as the rest of the sleeve. She wears a white sash tied in a bow around her waist. White lace and ruffles extend down from her waist. The skirt is the same pale yellow as the sleeves. The woman in the top right hand corner is facing away from the viewer and is shown from the waist up. Her hair is done up in an intricate mix of twists, loops, and buns, and is decorated with pearls and pink flowers. She wears a pair of dangling, teardrop earrings and two necklaces on black ribbons. A large swath of white cloth is elegantly wrapped around the top of her shoulders as a collar. The rest of her dress is a mint green color. The bodice is made of vertically pleated fabric and is belted at the waist.. Her sleeves are made of several fabric petals. The woman in the middle of the page on the far left faces away from the viewer. She is shown from the collar up. She wears a blue bonnet with a wide brim separated into four horizontal sections of ruching. Blue ribbon bows and ruffles decorate the crown. Two long blue ribbons tie underneath her chin. She has a high, white collar with a brooch in the middle. The woman in the middle of the page on the far right side is shown from the shoulders up. She wears a yellow bonnet with a wide brim, separated into four horizontal section of ruched fabric. Yellow ribbon bows decorate the crown, and yellow ribbons are tied under her chin. Pink roses and the frilled edge of a mobcap show underneath. She wears a white shawl over her shoulders. The woman in the bottom left hand corner is shown from head to toe. She wears a white, ruched fabric headdress with pink floral designs with a small crown of pink flowers in front. Sheer veils hang down from either side of the headdress and she holds the ends in her hands. The dress is made from a pink patterned fabric and her sleeves are puffed with ruffles of black lace around the upper arm and lower forearm. A black sash is tied around her waist and the long ends fall down the front of her skirt. There a two, wide, black lace ruffles at the hem. She wears a pair of black ballet flats and white stockings. The woman in the bottom right hand corner is shown from head to toe. She wears a pink , wide-brimmed bonnet decorated with roses and large pink bows. The collar of her dress is white and folded over to show floral lace with scalloped edges. She is wrapped in a long, white shawl with floral designs, trimmed with long, ruffled lace. The skirt is teal blue. She wears a pair of black and white shoes.
