Description
"Überfahrt über den Kibila-Fluss bei Ipyana." ("On the way across Kiwira-River near Ipanya."). Wide river with woody banks: In the water large dugout canoe with 5 men on board. Imprinted on the image: "Kewira-Fluss. D.O.A. No. 1324a" ("Kiwira-River. G[erman] E[ast] A[frica] No. 1324a").
Blue ink stain on imprinted "D.". -- The river was named "Kibila", "Kibira" and "Kewira". Today it is called Kiwira, situated near the southern border to Malawi.
