Waist length portrait wearing hat, smoking pipe, various medals and ribbons. 1990-1599. Label on back identifies Lorenzo A. Barnes ("Old Batch") as Mexican War Veteran, arrived in California in 1850 where mined various places in Mother Lode. Settled in Calaveras County where owned Natural Bridges. Born in New York in 1823, died in San Francisco 1904. This picture taken at 1900 reunion of Native Sons in San Francisco. Mrs. John Burnton. Also have negative: no. 24,469 (5 x 4 in.)
