Description
Photograph of the Shriner's parade on Figueroa Street and Santa Barbara (Plaza?), Los Angeles, looking north, June 6, 1925. The float in the foreground depicts a biblical(?) scene where a women dressed in a bright toga-like dress draped with a darker sash. She holds a book in her lap. Several books lay near her. Behind her is a man bent over in the act of working (or writing?). The float's background is a cave-like structure with a dark circle in the center. Trailing this float is a Hawaiian float with people dressed in Hawaiian outfits walking next to the float that resembles a teepee. The crowd gathered on the sidewalk is massive. Flags strung across the street flies above the scene.
