Photograph was edited for publication purposes. Photograph caption dated December 22, 1956 reads “Steve, left, and Fred tell Mrs. Paul Kish, Steve’s sister, of recent flight from Hungary after fighting Communists. Further identification is avoided to prevent possible Communist retaliation against their families who still are in Hungary.” The article partially reads “After bloody fighting and countless hardships, two young men—Hungarian refugees—have been reunited at the Burbank apartment of the sister of one and are getting set to observe Christmas U. S. style.”
