Description
A homeless man who calls himself Sonny Zero rests fully clad on the beach at Venice. In his 30s, he has been homeless "for years". Sonny said, "I've been out here so long they call me "Sandy." "Somebody has got to do something," he said, "because life like this is the pits." About being photographed: "Maybe if people see this it will do some good. We can't find work (looking) like this. Somebody's got to do something." Photo date: August 13, 1987.
