Image shows group portrait of three judges with four students who won prizes in the second annual birdhouse competition, the cumulation of a manual training department assignment at Malaga Cove School. Identified in the front row, left to right, are: 1. Melroy Hodge (tied for 3rd prize); 2. Gordon Anderson (1st prize); 3. Tod Snelgrove (2nd prize); and 4. Tom Davis (tied for 3rd prize.) Posing with the boys in the back row are the judges, Charles H. Cheney, Frank A. Vanderlip, and his wife, Narcissa Cox Vanderlip. Winners were awarded books on architecture and ornithology.
