V1p330a In PHOTO ALBUM-VAULT: ** fc917.9461 A3, Vol. I, page 330 top. This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco." Text written on photo: "Left to right: H. Stephenson Smith, British Consul, Walter Brisley Hearn, Lord Kitchner [sic], C. E. Potter arriving in San Francisco." The photo shows five men sitting in a car near Crowley's Boat House on East Street; only four are listed in the caption. Lord Kitchener was the British Minister of War during the early part of World War I. According to "The Life of Lord Kitchener" by Sir George Arthur, Kitchener visited San Francisco on April 7, 1910.
