Photograph shows Susanne B. Wilson sitting at a table with another women. The table is set for a meal and has a decorative fan as a centerpiece. In the background there is a man at a podium with a large world map on the wall behind him. The map reads: "The world mission of the Methodist Church." Susanne B. Wilson served as YWCA president from 1967 to 1970, which was a turning point for her. In 1973 she became a San Jose City Council woman and became Vice Mayor. She then spent 12 years on the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors, rising to Chairwoman. She never forgot the YWCA and in the mid-1980's Wilson helped spark the new headquarters and residence downtown, and drove the multimillion-dollar campaign to build it.
