Photograph article dated September 4, 1964 partially reads, "Children who attend Napa Street Grammar School in Northridge think the best time of year to go to school is during summer vacation. That's when they teach the good things - like roller skating, Limbo dancing, acting, sports and The Fine Art of Eating Watermelon! As evidenced in the photographs on this page, the youngsters took to their 'watermelon' lesson with enthusiasm, leaving only the rinds to prove they didn't need much instruction in that subject. The summer playground activities are supervised by Ted Barricklow, fifth grade teacher at the school. He reports that second to watermelon eating, the children's favorite summer subjects are Limbo Contests and Treasure Hunts."
