Description
Connie and Meg begin the interview discussing the context of the novel and how Meg came up with the story. They proceed to discuss the complications of a son meeting his gay father in Los Angeles for the first time in the novel, and how their relationship develops, before moving on to discuss the pressures of the father’s life as a high-profile, stereotypically masculine actor. Connie has Meg read a passage from the book, and they consider the father’s closeted status in Hollywood, and his using his son as a cover for his secret. They then talk about Meg’s next book project and her career in ballet. Connie closes the interview requesting an autograph for her copy of the book.
