Description
Caption reads: "Bridge nears completion--A Japanese freighter passes under the railroad bridge spanning the Sacramento River between Martinez and Benicia as workmen at right work on the new highway bridge which will link Contra Costa and Solano counties. The railroad bridge is in "lift" position to permit the freighter to pass under. Because of its height, the new highway bridge will not have such lift facilities."
