"From the 1870s through the 1960s, the Dewey family orchard, pictured here with Emma Dewey inspecting the fields around 1910, grew almonds and cotton (shown here) along with oranges, olives, grapes, cherries, watermelons, and wheat. This orchard was located at the corner of present-day streets Winding Way and Dewey Drive."
