Photograph caption dated November 2, 1955 reads "Mrs. Eleanor Walton of Panorama City proudly shows Dark Eyes, German Weimaraner hunting dog born in Australia and reared in Connecticut kennel prior to purchase by Clinton Walton, an electrical engineer and avid hunter. Dog, same breed as pet owned by President Eisenhower, recently bore a litter of 11 pups born with stripes which will disappear as they mature."
